Dear Colleagues, You are cordially invited to send up to 3 delegates to the IDBF Members Symposium in Macau, China from 5th- to 7th December 2014. Please complete Part A of the attached Delegates Form (even if you cannot attend) and return it by 24th October 2014 to Peter Tang at - legengrp@macau.ctm.net If you do intend to attend please submit Part B of the attached Delegates Form, by the 21st November 2014 and also return it to Peter Tang. In broad terms the IDBF Council will be seeking the Member¡¯s views on the role and effectiveness of the IDBF, the present and future organisation of the IDBF, the development of our Sport Nationally and Internationally and the areas of support needed by the IDBF Members¡¯ to expand their influence and carry the Sport forward. So here is the chance for you to have your say and exchange ideas on all things 'Dragon Boating'. There will also be the opportunity to take IDBF Boat Helms, Coaches and Race Officials Awards and training courses. Full details of the programme for the weekend will follow, together with details of the accommodation on offer and prices. There will be a small attendance fee of USD 20.00 per person, to cover IDBF Admin costs. The outline programme for the weeked is:- Day 1 - Friday, 5/12/14 Members arrive and registration Day 2- Saturday, 6/12/14 10:00 - 13:00 Symposium 13:00 - 15:00 Lunch break ( hosted ) 15:00 - 19:00 Symposium 19:00 Dinner ( hosted ) Day 3 - Sunday, 7/12/14 09:00 - 12:00 Symposium 12:00 - 15:00 Visit Nautical Center/ Helms/Coaches/Race Officials Assessment or training Lunch break ( hosted ) 15:00 - 19:00 Symposium 19:00 Farewell dinner ( hosted ) Day 4 - Monday 8/12/14 Members depart The cost of attending the symposium,that is, travel, food and accommodation, will be down to the individual or their IDBF Member organisation. However the IDBF may be able to assist with a travel subsidy or hosted accommodation for a limited number of delegates, on application to the IDBF Secretary-General, Peter Tang. I will be sending you this week coming the October 2014 IDBF webnews, please feel free to circulate it to others in your organisation or email group and on your web-sites but meanwhile, as a taster, I have attached an extract with the results and medals tables from the CCWC in Ravenna. I have also attached for your information an updated copy of the IDBF Member's Directory. If you have any amendments or additions to make please send them to me by email. Finally, I have attached for your information a letter clarifying the governance of our Sport at International and National levels, which if you have not yet received recognition by your Governmental Sports Authorities, can be sent to them in support of your case for recognition as the governing body for Dragon Boating in your own Country or Territory.
